(fooshya.com) — Perry residents rebuilding after recent hurricanes are getting hands-on help from Mennonite Disaster Service volunteers, who spent this past summer repairing homes and teaching high schoolers construction skills in town. Working in sweltering, often non-air-conditioned conditions, the group focused on safety, learning, and service as they replaced doors, ceilings, and flooring for local disaster survivors.
   

• Perry Man Sent Back to Federal Prison for Second Drug Trafficking Conviction (justice.gov) — A Perry man has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison, following a Perry Police officer's drug arrest that uncovered dozens of baggies of methamphetamine, cocaine, and synthetic cannabinoids. Federal and local officials say the case, part of Operation Take Back America, highlights ongoing efforts to keep Perry and other Panhandle communities safer from drug trafficking.
