84-Year-Old Gunman Shoots 2 Women, Self
Police said that one of the victims shot in the Latin Cafeteria Restaurant had died.

MIAMI, FL β An 84-year-old man walked into the Latin Cafeteria Restaurant on Saturday and shot two female employees before fleeing the scene. The elderly gunman later turned the gun on himself inside his green Jeep Cherokee, according to police. One of them died from her injuries.
Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade Police Department said that the incident occurred around 12:13 p.m. at the restaurant, which is located at 7360 Coral Way.
The woman who died was identified as 39-year-old Madlin Guardado. Her coworker was identified as 38-year-old Yenat Guardado, who was critically injured in the attack.

The gunman was not identified by police.
"According to investigators, the victims were working inside the restaurant when an armed subject entered the location. The subject approached the victims and began shooting, striking them both," explained Pinkard. "Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced one victim deceased on the scene. The second victim was airlifted to Kendall Regional Trauma Center in critical condition."
Pinkard said that the 84-year-old suspect fled the restaurant in a green Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle was found at 3:35 p.m. parked at 40 Street SW 112 Avenue. The gunman was inside the vehicle and had shot himself.

"He was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased," according to Pinkard.
