Luck of Irish Won't Help at St. Patrick's Day DUI Checkpoint

KENDALL — The luck of the Irish won't be helping you on Friday night if you get pulled over by Miami-Dade police at their St. Patrick's Day DUI checkpoint.

Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade Police Department told Patch that officers will focus on the area of 125 Avenue and SW 88 Street.

Police won't be accepting any blarney at the checkpoint, which runs from 7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The multi-agency checkpoint will be operated by the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Patrol Bureau Motorcycle Unit under a Florida Department of Transportation grant initiative.
