Miami Cosmetic Surgery Death Under Investigation
Police said they are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman who was undergoing cosmetic surgery in the Miami area.

DORAL, FL β Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old Illinois woman on Thursday at a Miami area cosmetic surgeon's office. Police said Lattia Baumeister was undergoing an unspecified cosmetic procedure at Seduction Cosmetic Center when the incident occurred around 9:19 a.m. The practice is located at 2500 N.W. 107 Avenue.

"The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is assisting the City of Doral Police Department with an investigation into the death of Lattia Baumeister," said Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade Police Department.

"According to investigators, Ms. Baumeister was undergoing a cosmetic procedure at 2500 N.W. 107 Avenue, when she experienced a medical emergency, " said Pinkard. "Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported Ms. Baumeister to Kendall Regional Hospital, where she later died."

The police report said that Seduction staff were attempting to perform CPR on the woman when Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived.
"On cases like this, normally the medical examiner will be the determining factor on what happened," Pinkard told Patch
According to the Seduction website, the practice offers a "hospital-oriented facility. With a professional staff that will make you feel at ease and confident of this life changing experience."
Baumeister lived in the 2400 block of 14 Street in Rock Island, according to police, who said that she was visiting the Miami area.
