Pinecrest Bank Robbery: FBI Searches for Suspect

A lone suspect robbed a BB&T Bank ​branch in Pinecrest on Monday and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

PINECREST, FL — The FBI is searching for a lone suspect who robbed a BB&T Bank branch on Monday. The robbery took place around 1 p.m. The branch is located at 3001 S Dixie Highway.

"The robber entered the bank and demanded money from an employee," according to FBI Special Agent Michael D. Leverock. "There were customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, there were no injuries." (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Pinecrest Patch.)

The suspect fled on foot.

The FBI released photographs of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras. But the FBI would not say how much money was taken during the robbery.
