Police Discover 1 Dead, Another Injured in Miami-Dade

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered that one man had been killed and another wounded.

KENDALL, FL β€” Police responded to a call of a woman in distress on Friday night at a home in the 14000 block of Jackson Street. But when they arrived, they discovered that one man was dead and another wounded. The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m.

"Arriving officers were approached by a 42-year-old-female, her six-year-old daughter, and a 53-year-old black male," explained Detective Argemis Colome of the Miami-Dade Police Department. "Officers then entered the home where they discovered a 39-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the torso, and a male who was determined deceased on the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue."

Colome said that police are conducting interviews at the scene to determine what happened.

The shooting victim was taken to Jackson South Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The case is being investigated by the Miami-Dade Police Department's Homicide Bureau.
