Students Allowed to Return to St. John Neumann Catholic School Following Bomb Threat

Miami-Dade police conducted a safety sweep of the school.

MIAMI β€” Students at St. John Neumann Catholic School were given the "all clear" by Miami-Dade police to return to their classrooms on Thursday morning after police investigated a bomb threat at the school.

"The bomb unit has given the 'all clear' and deemed the scene safe for children to return to class," Detective

Alvaro Zabaleta of the Miami-Dade Police Department told Patch shortly after 11 a.m.

The school is located at 12115 SW 107th Ave. in the Kendall area.

Zabaleta said that police conducted a safety search with dogs before allowing students to return to their classrooms.

St. John Neumann is a parish school established in 1981 that serves students in preschool (PreK-3) through eighth grade.
