Abandoned Boats to be Cleared out of Madeira Channel

A channel in Madeira Beach that has been accumulating abandoned boats is going to be cleaned up soon.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is looking at ways to clear out the abandoned boats near the Tom Stuart Causeway, according to an article from Bay News 9.

The area has multiple abandoned boats, some of which are submerged and partially destroyed.

Tropical Storm Debby only added to the problem and added more boats to the area.

Starting later this month, salvage crews will start to tow the boats out of the area.
