Accused Burglar Breaks In, Drinks Beer, Falls Asleep

After breaking into a St. Petersburg home, he raided the homeowner's refrigerator for beer and then fell asleep in the victim's bed.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- It wasn't difficult to find this accused burglar.

After breaking into a St. Petersburg home, he ransacked the homeowner's refrigerator for beer and food, and then fell asleep in the victim's bed.

That's where resident of the home on Dartmouth Avenue near Alternate 19 discovered Sean Wesley Price, 46, of 3044 Union St. N., St. Petersburg.

The resident had been away for the night and discovered Price in bed upon returning home Sunday morning, June 24. who had been out of town, discovered Sean Wesley Price, 46, upon their homecoming June 24.

According to St. Petersburg Police, Price gained access to the home by breaking a glass pane in the back door and then reaching in and turning the lock.

Once inside, instead of searching for jewels and cash, Price reportedly headed for the refrigerator, consuming the homeowner's Budweisers and leftovers.

He then gathered the victim's medication and placed them on a table in the living room along with a nearly-empty beer bottle before heading to the victim's bedroom for a nap.

St. Petersburg Police promptly took the slumbering man into custody, charging him with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Price is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Price has a history of problems handling his alcohol. In 2009, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested him for driving while under intoxication with injury and property damage and in 2014 for disorderly intoxication.

He's also been charged with grand theft auto, petit theft and driving on a suspended license.
