Arrest Made In Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed Man In Wheelchair
Pinellas Park police have arrested a 26-year-old Plant City man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in a wheelchair.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — Pinellas Park police have arrested a 26-year-old Plant City man and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death in connection with the Oct. 6 accident that killed a 63-year-old man in a wheelchair.
Pinellas Park police investigators issued an arrest warrant for Derek Dious, who turned himself in at the Pinellas County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000.
Police said Dious was the driver of the 2018 Jeep Compass that struck Gary Boisvert as he was crossing U.S. 19 North at Mainlands Drive in a wheelchair in the crosswalk against the "Do Not Walk" signal.

Boisvert was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Dious' car was heading south on U.S. 19 and increased its speed as it approached a yellow light at the intersection.
