Bayway Delays, Theater Woes and Commission Drama: 5 Things to Know
The beach is not just about sand and surf. A vital bridge is closed off for a concrete shipment. A beloved theater pines for a return to glory days. And the St. Pete Beach Commission eyes a heavy agenda.

1.) No Way on the Bayway: Plan to avoid the eastbound travel lanes on the Pinellas Bayway bascule bridge on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The contractor working on the bridge will be receiving and placing aconcrete delivery, weather permitting.
2.) Beached Theater?: In case you haven't heard, Beach Theatre owner Mike France is trying to turn the historic, 70-year-old theater into a non-profit in order to keep the place open and in the hands of the community. He has created a web site, savethebeachtheatre.org, where anyone interested can participate. Want to volunteer for a community cause? Here's your chance.
3.) Commission Meets: Now for some live theater: The St. Pete Beach City Commission meets tonight at 6. The commission has some pretty hefty issues to deal with, including storm damage costs, a budget gap and some growing unrest with the Mayor. Looking for drama? No admission charge either.
