Beach Sights: Flag on the Sand
Learn more about the landmarks that make the beaches special.

Sand Key Park is one of the many destinations visitors and residents alike go to for a day at the beach. When people wind there way down the road leading to the water, one of the most prominent landmarks is a large flagpole on the left hand side of the road.
Erected by the Pinellas County Board of Commissioners, the flagpole stands high above everything else in the park and is clearly visible from the water.
The flagpole is a site used frequently for patriotic celebrations, such as Flag Day. Due to it’s proximity many of the celebrations will include personnel from the Sand Key Coast Guard Flotilla.
