Beach Sights: The Bright Bird

Approaching Treasure Island on Central Avenue, one of the first things drivers notice when they reach the beach is the sign for the Thunderbird. 

The Thunderbird sign glows green, red and yellow and hangs high on the resort that it advertises.

The Thunderbird is one of the most longstanding resorts in Treasure Island and continues as a full service hotel. Amenities have been added over the years, but the resort maintains classic architecture unique to Florida.

Even to people not looking to stay for a night, the Thunderbird is a prime destination because of its tiki bar and beach view.
