Bicyclist Hit By Car, Killed In Pinellas Park
A 49-year-old bicyclist was killed Monday, Sept. 3, after a Nissan pickup truck struck him on 66th Street in Pinellas Park.

PINELLAS PARK – A 49-year-old bicyclist was killed Monday, Sept. 3, after a Nissan pickup truck struck him on 66th Street at 62nd Avenue North in Pinellas Park.
Around 12:15 a.m., James R. Paisley was riding his bike in the northbound lanes of 66th Street. At the same time, Shannon Sutter, 26, of Holiday, was driving his pickup truck north on 66th Street in the right curb lane crossing the intersection of 62nd Avenue on a green light.
Paisley failed to yield the right of way and attempted to cross 66th Street from the east to west and was struck by the front of the Nissan pickup truck in the right curb lane. Paisley and the bicycle were carried about 100 feet on the hood of the Nissan until Sutter could brake. Sutter remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Paisley was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
No charges are expected in this investigation at this time.
