Boat's Crash Into Dock Leads to DUI Charges: Report

The boater also hit two other vessels Thursday night, say police.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A local man is facing DUI and hit-and-run charges after he was arrested for crashing his boat Thursday night into a dock near the Madeira Beach Marina, according to a media report.

Deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Robert Hart, 44, WFLA-TV News Channel 8 reported.

The dock's owner told the TV station that Hart's boat was traveling at about 6 knots when it struck the dock at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

Hart's boat hit another boat and then left the area, moving north toward the Tom Stuart Causeway and striking an anchored sailboat on the way, WFLA-TV reported.
