A Real Wedding- Lord of the Rings/ Star Wars Kinda Love…

Her perfume's ginger citrus scent dissipated as it touched the air and carried itself throughout the room. "I got this for today, so that I will have a cheerful scent to remember this experience."

She sat calmly trying not to move as her blush was brushed across her perfect cheek bones. The shaded lamp to her right was so bright it cast a glow on one side of her face and sharp shadows across the other. She turned and smiled at the room. She couldn’t remember the moment when they became “more then friends.”

It just sort of…happened.

The had known each other a year before their attraction made there relationship more. They were nontraditional in every regard, spending nearly half of their relationship in different states. She giggled and her perfect nose scrunched as she remembered the night he proposed.

“He has this long speech. He had been preparing for weeks, ” she continued closing her eyes for the finishing touches of eye shadow. “We were watching the fire works New Years Eve and he had been planning on telling me all theses things, proposing while we were watching the fireworks. By the time the fireworks had ended, he had completely forgotten the speech because of his nerves and anticipation.”

She cleared her throat and gave her best impression of “Scew’s” (James) proposal “I .. I love you.. and I .. I love you”. The whole room burst into laughter at her precise recount.

She picked up the frosted glass perfume bottle and sprayed it into the air. It’s ginger citrus scent dissipated as it touched the air and carried itself through out the room. “I got this for today, so that I will have a cheerful sent to remember this experience.” Her for thoughtful was so endearing and consistent through-out the day even regarding some of the last minute details. “We could have a flat cake for all I care,” she said as the cake decor was nearly rushed by the ceremony’s starting time. “We could start a new cake trend because it is more important you are in that room then my cake be stacked correctly!” I looked at her in complete adoration, knowing I have never heard a bride say anything quite as loving, and maybe I won’t ever again.

His quirk and silly charm was perfect for her and their combine personal tastes touched every detail. They created there day allowing their uniqueness to be center stage.. (literally!) since they chose to be wed in a theater. Their music for the ceremony was a medley of Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Wedding tradition trumped by their love tangible and their uniqueness proudly displayed. The officiant, in skinny read jeans and hipster black hat, was joyful as she was profound in leading their nontraditional ceremony. “With this vow, I understand that we will more greatly impact the world together then if we were apart.” What a profound statement of the exclamation of marriage. The melody of Lord of the rings sill lingers in my head.

Everything he said to her made he laugh and smile like I have never seen. He played and joked and sang silly songs as we watched form a distance capturing silly moments that defined their affection for one another. It did not surprise me they were spending their honey moon as Disney World and I can imagine them skipping together down main street, laughing and flirting as they were that day. They were, in fact, perfect for each other. Smart and intellectual as they were silly and love struck. By far one of the most unique days I have ever been apart of.  I have the ginger scent perfume she has, in the form of lotion, and every time I smell the scent of citrus and ginger,  will think of them, and there Star Wars/Lord-of-the-Rings kinda love.
