Bus Driver, 2 Passengers Injured In Crash With Pinellas Bus

Pinellas Park Police is on the scene of a crash involving a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Bus with serious injuries.

PINELLAS PARK, FL -- A crash involving a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus and a car has left one person in critical condition.

Around 3:35 p.m. Friday, July 13, a black Honda Civic driven by Brian Hannum, 31, of Pinellas Park was traveling west on Gandy Boulevard approaching Grand Avenue directly behind the PSTA bus.

The bus was slowing for traffic while the Honda Civic was moving into the right turn lane when the car struck the right rear of the bus.

The bus driver, Yolanda Gibson, 54, of St. Petersburg, suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. At the time of the crash, there were two passengers on the bus who were not injured. Hannum was transported to an area hospital as a trauma alert where he is listed in critical condition.

The roadway was down to two travel lanes for approximately two hours.
