Coconut Inn Rezoning Denied by St. Pete Beach
The St. Pete Beach city commission turned down the redevelopment requests of the Coconut Inn.

A rezoning request from the has been denied by the St. Pete Beach city commission, according to an article from the St. Petersburg Times.
Coconut Inn owner, Mike Caruso, was wanting to know if the inn, zoned as residential, could be torn down, rebuilt and extended into part of a vacant back lot that also is part of a residential area, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
The St. Pete Beach city commission also denied Caruso’s request to be included in the traditional hotel district, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Caruso bought the inn in 2008 and has had the rezoning request denied once before in 2011.
Caruso’s rezoning request has been met with strong opposition from residents in the area, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
