Cops: Driver Under Influence Crashes Into Bus With Baby In SUV

A driver was arrested for felony driving under the influence Tuesday morning after crashing into an unoccupied school bus.

PINELLAS PARK, FL -- A Pinellas Park mother was arrested for felony driving under the influence and other charges Tuesday morning after crashing into an unoccupied school bus with her 6-month-old baby in the SUV.

Pinellas Park Police said Kelly Christen McKaeirman, 32, hit the school bus on 49th Street under the U.S. 19 underpass in Pinellas Park. She then continued on to a gas station where police found and arrested her. The baby was not injured.

Police found two Xanax tablets and a straw with white powder residue inside a diaper bag in the SUV.

She was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse. Her bond was set at $16,750.
