County Offices To Close For Thanksgiving Holiday

Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance of Thanksgiving.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance of Thanksgiving. 

Building Services, Human Services and Veterans Services offices will be closed both days. 

The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed on both Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27. They will reopen for regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 28.

The Solid Waste Disposal Facility is closed Thursday, Nov. 26; it will open Friday, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) is closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27; it will open Saturday, Nov. 28 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Solid Waste Administration Building is closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27; it will open Monday, Nov. 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Pinellas County parks and preserves will be open on Thursday, Nov. 26 and will be closed on Friday, Nov. 27. Parks & Conservation Resources administration offices will be closed both days.

Fort De Soto Park, county boat ramps and county beach access areas will be open both days, though annual beach and boat ramp parking permits will not be available for sale as the administrative offices will be closed. 

The Environmental Education Center at Brooker Creek Preserve, the Cultural and Natural History Center at Weedon Island Preserve and some attractions at Heritage Village remain closed due to COVID-19. 

The Florida Botanical Gardens will be open on Thursday, Nov. 26, but closed on Friday, Nov. 27. The Holiday Lights event has been cancelled this year. 

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session, except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations. 

Pinellas County facilities will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, Nov. 30.
