ST. PETE BEACH, FL — A St. Petersburg resident was injured in an early Wednesday morning crash outside of the TradeWinds Island Resort.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Boris Buncic, 20, of St. Petersburg was driving a Honda motorcycle in the southbound median lane of Gulf Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. As he was approaching the intersection with 55th Avenue, Diems Duverlus, 39, was heading north on Gulf Boulevard. Duverlus, also of St. Petersburg, was in the left westbound turn lane at the entrance to the resort at the time in a Chrysler 300.

“Investigators say that Buncic's motorcycle collided with the Chrysler 300, throwing Buncic off the motorcycle and onto the roadway,” an email from the sheriff’s Office said.
