Crime Rates Going Down Across the Beaches

The crime rates, as reported by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, have dropped from last year.

The beaches, and Pinellas county in general, are becoming safer places to live.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri has announced a 7.62 percent drop in part one crimes across Pinellas, according to TBNweekly.com.

Part one crimes are crimes that are considered serious crimes, like homicide and arson, and are also known as index crimes.

This is the third year in a row that the sheriff's office has reported a drop in part one crimes.

The sheriff's office covers many of the beach communities, including Belleair Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach, North Redington Beach and Redington Beach.
