Date Set for St. Petersburg Pier Moving to Madeira Beach

The St. Pete Pier Aquarium will also be getting a name change when it moves to John's Pass

A specific date has been given for the move of the Pier aquarium from downtown St. Petersburg to , according to an article from the St. Petersburg Times.

The pier will be open to the public in John's Pass on December 12, 2012 at 12:12 p.m., written in shorthand as 12/12/12 12:12 p.m.

Along with the date, the Pier aquarium will be recieving a the new name of the Secrets of the Sea Marine Exploration Center and Aquarium.

The name coincides with one of the missions of the redesigned aquarium, to educate about the contributions of scientists in research in the ocean.
