Deputy Runs Over Sunbather On Beach; Injuries Not Life-Threatening
The front driver side tire of the sheriff's vehicle drove over the beach goer's right side and mid to upper back.

ST. PETE BEACH, FL — A 23-year-old woman escaped serious injury after she was run over by a sheriff's vehicle while sunbathing on the beach.
On Wednesday at 1:08 p.m., Pinellas sheriff's Deputy Todd Brien was on beach patrol behind 4450 Gulf Blvd. in St. Pete Beach. He was speaking to several beach goers when was dispatched to another location.
Brien made a right turn in his marked sheriff's Chevrolet Tahoe and ran over Robin Diffenderfer, who was lying on her back in the sand.

The front driver side tire of the Tahoe drove over Diffenderfer's right side and mid to upper back. She was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
