Pinellas County Adds 4th Free Coronavirus Test Site

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — As local governments align with the first phase of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ statewide reopening, Pinellas County and community partners are rolling out new resources to help residents continue to navigate the evolving challenge of the coronavirus.
4th Free Testing Site
Local nonprofit Community Health Centers of Pinellas has added a fourth location for residents to receive free coronavirus testing. The site at the Lealman Exchange at 5175 45th St. N. in St. Petersburg will operate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting this week. CHC said residents do not need to show symptoms or be a CHC patient to be tested. The nonprofit also indicated that sites provide same-day walk-ups and drive-ups, but appointments are recommended to decrease wait times. Make an appointment by calling CHC at 727-824-8181 and selecting option “0.”
In addition to the Lealman Exchange site, the following CHC sites test patients Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• 707 East Druid Road, Clearwater
• 7550 43rd St. N., Pinellas Park
• 1344 22nd St. S., St. Petersburg (Johnnie Ruth Clarke Center)

A condensed electronic registration will be required at testing sites and residents are asked to bring a valid ID, according to CHC. Pinellas County will continue to share updates and outreach regarding these and other upcoming events as test efforts continue to ramp up in Pinellas.
Coronavirus Spanish Website
In a continued effort to reach all residents with resources, Pinellas County government has launched a Spanish-language version of the coronavirus website. It features detailed information on staying safe and getting help during the pandemic.

County No Longer Collecting PPE
After collecting thousands of gloves, masks, eye protection and other personal protective equipment, Pinellas County has ended PPE collections at local food banks and fire stations. The county is grateful to the many businesses and individuals that donated these supplies to help protect first responders and health care professionals from the coronavirus.
At this time, residents can continue to help the community by donating nonperishable food items and cloth masks at the following local food banks:
