Drummers and Dancers Greet Sunday Sunsets at Treasure Island

For years, a drum ring has welcomed Sunday sunsets on Treasure Island. It's an opportunity for drummers, musicians of all ages and dancers to gather and share in the spirit of music and nature.

Each Sunday they come. They come to Treasure Island.

They come from Lakeland, they come from Hudson, they come from Riverview, they come from all over the Tampa Bay region.

It's because of the drums.

For years, a circle of drummers have descended upon Treasure Island near the lapping waves of the Gulf of Mexico. It's an all-inclusive group. Anyone is welcome.

The drummers welcome the sunset each Sunday and, shortly after the sun sinks below the Gulf, the group disperses.

For a few hours each Sunday, music fills the air. And visitors join in dancing and swaying to the drums and whatever other instruments are brought to the beach.
