Elephants of Many Colors at Hotel for RNC

The elephant is a tried and true symbol of the Republican party and Silas Beach is helping to put a Florida spin on animal for the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Beach is creating a beach-themed pachyderm to be placed at the Plaza Beach Hotel Beachfront Resort during the RNC, according to an article from Tampabay.com.

Beach is just one man in the project being put on by the Tampa Bay Host Committee and the Outdoor Arts Foundation. The goal is to recruit patrons to display elephants designed by local artists from around the Bay area.

The plan is to make over 100 of the elephants to be placed at businesses around Tampa Bay. An installation fee of $2,000 will get a business an elephant for the RNC, but the price is reduced by $500 if they can get an artist to decorate the elephant themselves.

Beach, a Clearwater artist known for his work at Frenchie's, is painting a Gulf Sunset on his elephant that will be placed at the St. Pete Beach hotel. 

When the convention rolls around, keep on the look out for the tiny elephants!
