Paddle Against Cancer 2012

What: The second annual ‘Paddle Against Cancer’ event benefiting vital cancer research, education and patient care at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Join Gene Evans, kidney cancer survivor and senior vice president of retail banking at USAmeriBank, for a three-mile or seven-mile paddle, followed by a poolside celebration, including a silent auction, live music, free paddleboard demonstrations and a cash bar.

Who:  The paddleboard event is open to the general public. ($25 minimum donation)

When: The three-mile and the seven-mile paddle will begin at 9:30 a.m. sharp on May 26, followed by poolside celebration from noon to 4 p.m.

Why:  Proceeds from the Paddle Against Cancer event will benefit Moffitt Cancer Center. Gene Evans attributes his successful fight against cancer to his positive attitude and active lifestyle. This event was inspired by Gene’s desire to give back to Moffitt and offer hope to other cancer survivors.
