"Sow Your Wild Sea Oats" at Fort De Soto Park

Volunteers are needed to help maintain the beach at Fort De Soto Park by planting sea oats at the north point of the park. The sea oats will help stabilize and establish a dune system to prevent erosion and offer native wildlife a habitat, organizers say.

Interested volunteers should meet at Shelter 11, south of the fort.

To reward the volunteers for their time, the Kiwanis Club of the Gulf Beaches will provide lunch and a free concert at the park from 2pm to 6pm.
