5 Things to Know Today: Thursday, Oct. 20

Cooler temps are in store. A resort offers an unusual service for guests. And Treasure Island's City Manager gets a raise.

1) “Big Catch for Kids” Happy Hour: The All Children's Hospital Foundation Development Council presents the first of four parties to celebrate the Big Catch for Kids Fishing Tournament today at the Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach. Sponsored by the Postcard Inn, Corona and Corona Light, the event includes appetizers, drinks and a live band. The fun starts at 6 p.m. at the , 6300 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach. The cost is $20.

2) Treasure Island City Manager gets a raise: The Treasure Island City Council voted Tuesday to give City Manager Reid Silverboard a one percent raise with a two percent bonus, even though the city just raised property taxes.

3) Autism Friendly Resorts: The TradeWinds Resort on St. Pete Beach has announced its designation as an "autism friendly" business by the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.
