: A jury has recommended that former Jabil executive Patrick Evans be executed for the murders of his estranged wife, Elizabeth, and her friend, Jerry Taylor. But it is up to Judge Richard Luce to decide whether he will impose the death penalty,according to a report in the St. Petersburg Times.
: Johanna 'Xenobia' Krynytzky is looking to change the outlook that women have on themselves through the power of dance. Krynytzky own Hip Expressions in St. Petersburg and teaches women to be proud of their bodies and to express themselves though movement.
: Every year, Tampa Bay's Kite4Kids hosts a downwind kite race. This year, the addition of a launch party gave locals a chance to get their feet wet prior to the race. The idea is to gather all levels of experience in water sports, from beginner to advanced. It gave beach lovers the opportunity to try sports like stand up paddle boarding and skim boarding for the first time.

: It was a day full of family fun at Pass-A-Grille's Fish Broil and Mullet Festival. The smell of fresh cooked fish filled the air as a number of different activities kept visitors happy. There was no shortage of food. From smoked mullet to veggie skewers, there was a little something for everyone. Kids enjoyed a bounce house, face painting and games. Adults were able to have some good times of their own, with the craft vendors set up for business. Pets roamed the grounds with their owners, enjoying the chilly air and animal friendly vendors.
: Chief Deputy Bob Gualtieri (pronounced Gwall-terry') will become Pinellas County Sheriff after midnight, as retiring Sheriff Jim Coats leaves office before his term expires to be with his wife, who is battling breast cancer. Last month, Gov. Rick Scott appointed Gualtieri to be Sheriff upon Coats' retirement.
