Fort De Soto Starts Charging $5 Fee Today
Starting today, visitors to Fort De Soto will have to pay $5 to park.

Fort De Soto is one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, but as of today, it will cost a bit more to see it.
A $5 parking fee will go into effect today for anyone wishing to go to Fort De Soto, according to an article from Tampabay.com.
In the same way that y, Sand Key will charge $5 for each vehicle entering into the park.

People will be give the option to buy a yearly pass for $75 to negate the $5 parking fee.
Bikers, campers and people walking to the park are exempt from the fee.

Update: The parking fee will apply to any vehicle with a plate, to include scooter and motorcycles, but not electric bicycles.
