Good Samaritans Save Life Of Drowning Victim On Redington Beach
Two people enjoying a leisurely day on North Redington Beach are being credited with rescuing and reviving a drowned Tampa man.

NORTH REDINGTON BEACH, FL – Two people enjoying a leisurely day on North Redington Beach are being credited with rescuing and reviving a drowned Tampa man.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy Dustin Hansen was patrolling the beach behind 17250 Gulf Blvd. when he saw two people dragging a man out of the water.
Hansen ran to assist Leticia Godinez of Tampa, a registered nurse, and Christopher Minamyer of Satellite Beach pull the man onto shore.

The victim, later identified as 63-year-old Daniel Mikos of 8424 Marlanas Place, Tampa, was unresponsive and had stopped breathing.
Godinez and Minamyer began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation while Hansen called for paramedics and assisted with back blows. Eventually, Mikos began coughing and vomiting sea water.

He was transported to Largo Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told deputies that Mikos was by himself on the beach when he walked about 25 feet out into the water and disappeared. An alert beach-goer noticed that Mikos had not resurfaced and started yelling for help.
The incident appears to be accidental in nature.
