Gulf Groups Remember the BP Oil Spill
Senator Bill Nelson will be present at a press conference this Friday remembering the BP oil spill.

On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded, killing 11 people and causing the largest oil disaster in our nation’s history.Â
This Friday, Gulf Future and Senator Bill Nelson will meet at Demen's Landing to remember the event.
The press conference is being held to help bring awareness to the dangers that exist with off-shore drilling. The focus will be on the need of funds for Gulf restoration and creating jobs in a clean energy environment.

There is still oil in the Gulf from the explosion and plankton and dolphins are showing up with oil in their systems, according to the Gulf Future.
The conference starts at 3 p.m. on Friday at Demen's Landing, 400 1st Ave SE, St. Petersburg.
