Postcard Inn Plans 3-Day Party for Pride Weekend

The hotel is celebrating St. Pete Pride with a Fire and Ice Party designed to heat up and chill out parade goers.

is getting involved with the Pride Weekend events in a very cool, and hot, way.

The Fire and Ice Party going on this weekend at the Postcard Inn is bringing a unique celebration to the St. Pete Pride event.

“The owner of Watermark decided to do an entire buyout of the hotel for the whole three-day weekend,”said Misty Wells, director of sales and marketing at the Postcard Inn.

Watermark Magazine, a Florida-based LGBT publication, decided to have a three-day-long party at the Postcard Inn to complement many of the events going on in downtown St. Petersburg, Wells said.

The weekend is broken down into individual smaller parties throughout the weekend, Wells said. The event starts on Thursday with a for everyone who has shown up for the three-day weekend early.

“Once you do the parade and all the other stuff, it’s a great place for people to come together and have a good time and cool off,” Wells said.

Friday night is starting out with the and will have fire dancers and DJs from around the world flown in, Wells said.

Saturday is the and will have the pool being utilized to its maximum potential and is offering a way for people to cool off after spending the day out in the sun at the parade, Wells said.

There are going to be some surprises at all of the parties for people who show up, Wells said.

Beyond the parties, the Postcard Inn is looking to offer a friendly atmosphere for people to stay at during the events of Pride Weekend, Wells said.

“The owner of Watermark thought to take over a place, so it’s about their group and he’s even arranging transportation to downtown St. Petersburg all weekend long, so people can come and go to all the events and be at the hotel as well,” Wells said.

Even if people aren’t staying at the Postcard Inn during the weekend, they can attend all the parties by buying tickets online or at the Watermark booth during the parade.

This marks the first year that Postcard Inn is getting involved with the St. Pete Pride event, and they're looking forward to continued involvement and are hoping to make the Fire and Ice Party a yearly event, Wells said.

The parties start on Thursday night, and there are individual parties continuing all weekend. For a full list of events, check the Fire and Ice Party website.
