PINELLAS PARK, FL -- A 71-year-old homeless man was killed Monday while trying to cross U.S. 19 outside of the crosswalk.

According to Pinellas Park Police, at 6:30 a.m., March 11, a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Glenn Walker, 57, of Port Richey was traveling north in the curb lane in the 6700 block of U.S. 19 approaching 70th Avenue North when William Folsom stepped into the path of the Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not using the crosswalk that was one block south of this location. Police say heavy fog affected the driver's visibility.
