Human Trafficking Perils Spotlighted March 15

Florida is a hub for human trafficking. Now experts are seeking to warn businesses and law enforcement about the illegal trade that is a $31 billion industry.

Human trafficking is a huge problem in Florida, with training for police just held in St. Pete Beach.

Now St. Petersburg College will broadcast "Human Trafficking – Slavery in the 21st CenturyHuman Trafficking – Slavery in the 21st Century," an interactive web broadcast that is open to the public to watch.

Business owners that cater to a tourist traffic as well as police agencies are encouraged to register for this free webinar featuring a panel of experts.

The web broadcast is March 15 from 2-3 p.m., with users asked to register in advance by going to the National Preparedness Terrorism Institute website. The webinar can be viewed from this website, too.
