Some people avoid dairy treats such as ice cream, because of how they feel after eating.
But an ice cream option at the on Madeira Beach actually may aid digestion and help keep stomach problems at bay.
Just order teaberry ice cream, which has some medicinal benefits that aren't normally found in your standard vanilla or chocolate flavors.

"Teaberry has been used for calming the stomach, it's like Pepto-Bismol," said Clint Herlein, owner of the Amish Creamery. It tastes good, too.
The teaberry ice cream is locally made, along with the rest of Amish Creamery's ice creams, in the Amish community in Sarasota.

"Teaberry has been in Amish families for generations," Herlein said. The minty flavored teaberry also is found in old-fashioned chewing gum and even in some herbal teas, known for their soothing properties.
If you're looking to give the teaberry ice cream a shot, make sure to stop by and visit the Amish Creamery at 200 150th Ave in Madeira Beach from noon to 10 p.m.
