Indian Rocks Beach Give Back to the Troops
The Indian Rocks Beach Homeowners Association will be shipping out care packages to the Middle East starting this week.

The first shipment of boxes for servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan with ties to Indian Rocks Beach residents, called Beach Boxes, will go out this week, according to Indian Rocks Beach Home Owners Association President Becky Griffin.
HOA's latest project instigated by Bob Mecca and chaired by Jacque Enderle collects food, personal hygiene items, magazines, puzzle books and regular books and maps for placement and shipping in pre-paid Post Office containers
“Dear Soldier” letters written by youngsters from Church of the Isles School are also included along with a cover letter and IRB sticker introducing the association and its intent. A photo of members who gathered last week on the beach or a photo shoot goes along with the contents.

“It was really difficult finding locals who had ties to Middle Eastern troops,” said Griffin, who hopes getting the word out will increase the number of responders for the next shipment to go out in December.
IRB residents and those from surrounding communities who have military connections in Iraq or Afghanistan can contact the Association on the IRB HOA website or on their Facebook page.
