Bicyclist Dies From Critical Injuries Following Crash On Park Boulevard Bridge

INDIAN SHORES, FL — A bicyclist has died in the hospital after suffering critical injuries in a crash Wednesday on the Park Boulevard Bridge.

At 6:07 a.m., 60-year-old Sherry Nowotarski was riding her bicycle west over the bridge when she lost control and fell into the curb lane.

Lenon Ashford, 41, was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart west over the bridge and, despite efforts to avoid hitting Nowotarski, struck her with the passenger side of the car.

Nowotarski was taken to Bayfront Hospital where she died.

Nowotarski was hired as a civilian employee at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Nov. 1, 2010.
