Intoxicated Man Seeking Help Killed After Being Struck By Car

PINELLAS PARK, FL — A 57-year-old Pinellas Park man has died after being struck by a car early Saturday morning.

At 3:22 a.m., Pinellas Park Police received a call from David Martin who said he was highly intoxicated and needed assistance.

While police and fire rescue crews tried to locate Martin, they heard a crash at the intersection of Park Boulevard and 52nd Street. When they arrived, they found Martin dead after being struck by a car.

The driver, Jeffrey Cron, 35, of Pinellas Park waved down an officer and remained on scene. He is cooperating with the investigation. There are no charges at this time.
