Kayaker on Shell Island Saved by Coast Guard

a 49-year-old kayaker was rescued by the Coast Guard after being separated from his brother-in-law.

After being separated from his brother-in-law near Pass-A-Grille while kayaking, a 49-year-old man became standed on Shell Island, according to an article from Tampabay.com

The brother-in-law called the Coast Guard after attempting to reach him multiple times by cell phone.

The Coast Guard sent out two boats and a helicopter to comb the area where he went missing. The helicopter spotted him on Shell Island, waving his shirt to get the attention of his rescuers.

The man was transported to Tierra Verde Marina and reunited with his family. No injuries were reported.
