Kites Take to the Sky in Treasure Island

October isn't all about German festivals and spooky traditions. Some of the events are lighter, literally.

KiteOberFest at the Thunderbird in Treasure Island is goin on this Saturday, October 20 until Sunday, October 21.

KiteOberFest encompasses all things kites by celebrating with demonstrations and competitions.

The event will be happening on the beach behind the Thunderbird and will feature kite makers from around the world.

In addition, people can learn from the masters of kite making and flying with seminars throughout the event.

If you're looking to get started flying, a Windworks kite shop will be setting up on the beach to get you set up.
