Lou's Seaside Florals Loves Its New Location

Lou’s Florist & Wine Garden has merged with Seaside Florals at the Don Cesar Hotel to become Lou’s Seaside Florals. 

Owners John and Kim Lovell once operated their own respective shops but have now decided to run an all-encompassing floral and wine shop under one roof.

“It’s definitely smaller than our other shop(s) but we work like family here, I bring in the dogs and we’re in a great spot so it’s better” Kim Lovell said.

The shop is located at 6390 Gulf Blvd. conveniently nestled among many large hotels like TradeWinds Resort and Don CeSar on ‘hotel row’ Lovell said.

The previous location at 7800 Blind Pass Road was popular but this new ‘corner spot’ has proven to be even better for the beach crowd. 

The shop sells accessories, beach attire and cover-ups, small gift items, birthday cards and more.

“Everybody sells flowers, we wanted to add something extra” Lovell said. 

Weddings drive most of the business at Lou’s and they provide floral arrangements for more than 200 weddings a year.

 “Now we can serve all the hotels in this area not just the Don Cesar although we still can accommodate that too” Lovell said.

In addition to wedding arrangements, Lou’s specializes in custom gift baskets. Wine is a big part of the shop so gift baskets are often centered around bottles of wine or champagne. Gift baskets are perfect for ‘any and all occasions’ Lovell said.

John and his wife Kim have been in the flower business for more than 20 years and are confident they’ll remain in their new location for many years to come.
