Madeira Beach Bicyclist Hit and Killed on Duhme Road

David M. Pimentel, a 37-year-old Madeira Beach resident, was struck by a van and killed while crossing Duhme Road on a bicycle Tuesday afternoon, according to Tampabay.com.

Pimentel was riding his bicycle along the shoulder of the road when he turned and tried to cross the northbound lanes of Duhme Road around 51st Avenue North. 

Pimentel rode into the path of a 2004 Ford van and was thrown from his bicycle. Pimentel died at the scene.

Largo resident, 62-year-old Ettore Pensavalle, the driver of the van, wasn't injured. 

Investigation of the crash continues.
