Madeira Beach Plans New Town Center

Madeira Beach plans to make the existing city hall into a resident friendly town center.

Madeira Beach is looking to overhaul it's current city hall and make it more of a complex for residents, according to an article from the Beach Beacon.

According to plans shown at the January 5 workshop, the new complex would include a new city hall, fire station and public works building, all topped off with a clock tower.

The first of the new buildings to be constructed is planned to be the public works building, which is currently located at the marina. The cost of the new public works building is estimated at $1 million and would come out of existing funds.

The proposed building is two-stories tall and will include ceiling to floor windows and ammenities, such as an exercise room, for residents.

The building itself is planned to be energy efficient and utilize natural lighting.
