Madeira Beach Woman Injured in Scooter Crash
The 55-year-old driver was not wearing a helmet when her scooter crashed on Duhme Road, near 48th Avenue North.

A 55-year-old Madeira Beach driver is hospitalized with critical injuries tonight at Bayfront Medical Center, after she was apparently lost control of her scooter as it traveled on Duhme Road.
Karen Sue Kennedy was driving her Roketa scooter north, near 48th Avenue North in Madeira Beach on Sunday afternoon, when it struck the right curb of the roadway. The impact caused the driver to be thrown from the scooter.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, she sustained critical injuries. The road was shut down to traffic for two hours as emergency workers responded to the accident. Kennedy was not wearing a helmet.
