Man Convicted In Largo Police's 1st Case With Cyber Crimes Task Force
Treasure Island resident Christopher Carr, 61, was sentenced to state prison for possession of child pornography.

TREASURE ISLAND, FL — A Treasure Island man arrested on child pornography charges in August 2020 is headed to prison.
Christopher Carr, 61, was sentenced to state prison with a projected release date of Aug. 21, 2040.
Carr also faces violation of probation charges in Connecticut upon his release.

This was the first joint investigation conducted by the Largo Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement after the Largo police joined the state's Cyber Crimes Task Force.
The case was investigated over several months during which law enforcement retrieved more than 2,000 images and videos of child pornography sent to Carr's Treasure Island address.

At the time of his arrest, Carr was a registered sexual offender on probation for prior child pornography charges. The search warrant led to the seizure of multiple electronic devices belonging to Carr.
He was ultimately charged with 20 counts of transmission of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography with enhancements and one count of violating probation.
