Man Killed By Car While Placing Bike On Pinellas Transit Bus
A 58-year-old man is being charged with DUI manslaughter following a fatal crash in Indian Rocks Beach in which a man was killed.

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, FL -- A 58-year-old man is being charged with DUI manslaughter following a fatal crash in Indian Rocks Beach in which a man was killed while trying to place his bicycle on a rack on a Pinellas transit bus.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, at 1:54 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 55-year-old Michael Richardson of Redington Shores was putting his bicycle on a PSTA bus rack stopped at a bus stop on Gulf Boulevard just south of 4th Avenue when a 2016 Ford Flex driven by David Schwab of New Hartford, Iowa, crossed over the southbound lane in front of the bus.
Investigators say that Schwab's vehicle struck the PSTA bus head on as Richardson was placing his bicycle on the bicycle rack located on the front of the PSTA bus.

Richardson was transported by Bayflight to Bayfront Medical Center where he died.
Schwab was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He consented to a blood draw at the hospital, which indicated that he had a blood alcohol content of .083, over the legal limit.

He will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail where he will be charged with DUI manslaughter and DUI with property damage.
