Man Stabs Dog After It Bit Granddaughter
Shawn Riley stabbed a Golden Retriever twice in the neck after it bit his granddaughter.

Shawn Riley stabbed a six-year-old Golden Retriever twice in the neck earlier today after the dog bit his four-year-old granddaughter.
The child, Shayna Lydick, was out at the Madeira Beach McDonald's when she approached the dog, Sampson, who belonged to Robert and Debbie Moore.
The dog then bit her on the lip and Riley stabbed the dog twice in the neck with a pocket knife.

The incident occured in the outdoor seating area of McDonald's.
Lydick was taken to All Children's Hospitalfor treatment of the bite and may require reconstructive surgery.

The dog was treated for its injuries on scene and has been taken into custody by Pinellas County Animal Services.
Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies report the owners of the dog and the grandparents of Lydick know each other.
